Central Texas hockey fans enjoying the excitement as the Texas Stars get off to a fast start in their inaugural season.

With the recent opening of the Cedar Park Center, Central Texas hockey fans had reason to smile once again. The Texas Stars hockey team, a minor league affiliate of the Dallas Stars NHL team, kicked off their inaugural season in October and are off to a tremendous start with a 10-2 record.

The seemingly never ending growth of Central Texas has brought many new things to the area and hockey is right at the top of the list when it comes to new and exciting things to do in Central Texas. The minute you drive up to the Cedar Park Center it is very obvious that no detail was spared in making this a first class venue. The Arena is truly spectacular. Once you step inside it only gets better, not only will you be treated to outstanding hockey action as you watch one of the best teams in the American Hockey League, you will enjoy a state of the art arena with an atmosphere usually found only in the most historic of hockey venues.

"We are huge hockey fans and have seen several NHL teams play over the years", said one hockey fan. "This place has become a favorite for me and my family because of the affordability and quality of hockey being played. My kids have absolutely fallen in love with the team, and this fun atmosphere".

The Stars play in the West Division of the Western Conference. The conference consists of seven teams, two of those teams being in-state rivals, the Houston Aeros and the San Antonio Rampage. The Stars record against Houston so far this season is 3-1 and they hold a 2-1 advantage over the Rampage.

Fans will notice, when they look over the Stars roster, several talented players from the United States but they will also find the outstanding talent the Stars have signed from such countries as Canada, Finland, and Russia. Several players have NHL experience, yet many are still working their way to that big day when it will be their time to take the ice in the NHL.

Single game tickets start at $9.00. Fans can also choose from a few different multi-game ticket packages that are available. Promotional nights are also something fans are treated to from time to time. On Saturday fans attending the game with the Chicago Wolves can get four tickets, four hot dogs, and four soft drinks for $44.00. Also, free t-shirts await the first 1,000 kids 12-and-under.
