Dickinson Evens Their Record at 1-1 By Defeating Texas City

TEXAS CITY - Dickinson made the short trip to Texas City for a Friday night matchup with Texas City came away with a 28-14 win behind a 300-yard rushing performance by Tyrell Preston.

Preston, a senior, led a Gator rushing attack that wore Texas City down to finish with 425-yards on the ground. Preston proved hard to stop as he carried the ball 40 times for the Gators and finished with a pair of touchdowns behind a determined offensive line.

Dickinson turned to Don Henderson at running back late in the game after Preston took a shot to the back that knocked him out of the game. Henderson never missed a beat as he carried 13 times for 112 yards including a 19-yard touchdown run to help the Gators extend their lead.

Texas City had some offensive success of their own as Quarterback Andrew Allen passed for 150 yards on 11-of-25 passing and added 46 yards on the ground. He tossed two touchdown passes to Armanti Foreman who finished with 100 yard receiving by hauling in six passes on the night. But it was the Gator offense that was clicking on all cylinders as they overshadowed fairly effective passing effort by Texas City.
