Texas City Uses Big Second Half to Down Pearland

Pearland went on the road to Texas City Saturday looking to come away with a road win but came up short by losing to the Stingarees 55-40.

Both teams battled back and forth in the first half though neither was able to seize the momentum early on. Pearland was able to take a 12-10 lead and the end of the first quarter and maintained their two point lead at the half by taking a 22-20 lead into the locker room.

Both teams scored 14 points in the third quarter allowing Pearland to hold on to their slim lead heading into the fourth quarter of play.

The fourth quarter looked like Texas City was just waiting to make their move late as they went on a 21-4 run in the final quarter of play. The Stingarees got busy rebounding and playing some intense defense to fuel their run. But it was some key shots on the offensive end that had Pearland
Cory Johnson hit some big three pointers for Texas City and helped the Stingarees build their momentum and go on their huge run. He finished with nine points and three rebounds in the game. David Richardson and Keenan Bell both finished with 13 points for Texas City. D'Onta Foreman finished with 11 points on 5-of-6 shooting. Nine different Texas City players finished with at least one rebound.
