Frisco starting pitcher Martin Perez turned in a solid outing with his seven scoreless innings of work. He struck out five and scattered five hits while walking just two. Ben Snyder took over for Perez to start the seventh inning and pitched a scoreless inning and Fabio Castillo came on to earn the save with his scoreless inning of work in the ninth inning.
Davis Stoneburner helped get Frisco on the board in the first inning when he used an RBI double to chase home Leonys Martin for a 1-0 lead.
The RoughRiders extended their lead to 2-0 in the fourth inning when catcher Robbie Diaz connected for his first home run of the year.
Frisco picked up an insurance run in the eighth inning when Mike Bianucci doubled and later came around to score on a throwing error.
The RoughRiders top part of the batting order swung the bats well as their top four hitters all had at least one hit apiece. Lead off hitter Leonys Martin had a double and Stoneburner, batting second, had two hits on the evening with one of those being a double.
Frisco will close out their three game series with Northwest Arkansas Friday evening at 7:05 p.m. with Jake Brigham taking the mound against Zach Miner.
